Local code
Ask questions about a folder on this device and apply the edits it suggests. The code is read inside your browser and never uploaded.
Open a folder
Choose the project you want to ask about. Your browser asks for permission first, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Ask about this code
The answer is generated on your device from the chunks it retrieved, and every part of it is traceable to the file and line it came from.
Suggest a change
Describe the change and name the file. You see the exact diff before anything is written, and writing asks for permission separately.
Give the on-device agent a task
Describe a change or a question that takes several steps. The agent plans, then searches, reads and edits files in the folder you opened — one step at a time, on the model running in this browser. It never writes a file until you have seen the diff and approved it.
What this agent cannot do here
A browser tab cannot run terminal commands, so this agent cannot run your tests, your build or git. It will tell you which command to run instead of claiming a result. To have an agent run commands on your machine (each one with your approval), open the project in the VegaDūta extension for VS Code and use “Start a Coding Task”, or use the VegaDūta JetBrains plugin.
Context window
What the model can see on the current step. Small on-device models have small windows, so older material is pushed out in a fixed order: oldest tool output first, then old steps are summarised, then the least recently used file excerpts.
Shown once a run starts.
Everything here stays on your device
The folder you open is read by this browser tab alone. File contents, the search index and your questions are never sent to VegaDūta or anywhere else, and the reply is generated by the model installed on this machine.
Free — nothing here spends your hosted quota, because nothing here is ever sent to a server to be answered.
The console around this page needs a VegaDūta sign-in, but the page itself never reads your account, your plan or your tenant.
